Our Founder
ITG founder Dr. Werner F.Auerbacher was born in Germany. His lifelong passion for engineering began as a young boy when he discovered wireless radio and became fascinated by how sound could travel across great distances without wires.
After receiving technical training in Europe, Werner developed extensive expertise in transformers, radio, television, defense electronics, magnetic amplifiers, and magnetic components. Following his move to the United States in 1937, he continued expanding his knowledge in product design, magnetic materials, manufacturing processes, and practical engineering applications.
Combining the precision, discipline, and quality standards associated with German engineering with a deep understanding of both European and American markets, Werner recognized an opportunity to build stronger connections between the two. In 1963, he founded The Inter-Technical Group, Inc (ITG) in New York, helping leading European manufacturers introduce advanced magnetic technologies to customers throughout the Americas.
Werner became more than an engineer. He served as a technical and commercial bridge between Europe and the Americas, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation of European, particularly German, engineering excellence. He established a culture where business relationships are built on technical expertise, professional integrity, reliability, and trust.
For more than sixty years, ITG has been built on values that transcend products, technologies, and markets. Founded by Dr. Werner F. Auerbacher in 1963, the company was established on a foundation of engineering excellence, integrity, innovation, and trust.
History
Established in Irvington, New York, in 1963, ITG has continuously evolved through innovation, engineering excellence, and global expansion. What began as a bridge between European technology leaders and American markets has grown into a leading magnetics component, EMI filter, power module manufacturer serving customers across a wide range of industries worldwide.

Founded by Dr. Werner F. Auerbacher in 1963, the company was established on a foundation of engineering excellence, integrity, innovation, and trust. This philosophy has remained at the heart of ITG: applying deep magnetic knowledge to customer challenges, developing practical engineering solutions, and connecting global partners through technology. Today, with the third generation of leadership in place, those principles remain as relevant as ever. While technologies have evolved and markets have expanded, ITG's commitment to customers, partners, and technical excellence has never changed.
ITG has cultivated a culture where long-term relationships matter, engineering expertise drives decision-making, and reliability is measured not only by product performance but by the promises we keep. This continuity has enabled ITG to earn the trust of customers, suppliers and employees around the world.
As ITG looks to the future, we continue to build on this legacy, passing forward not only technical knowledge, but also a culture of trust, innovation, and partnership that has guided the company for more than six decades.
